What is the Community Resource Center and Resiliency Space?
The Community Resource Center (CRC) and Resiliency Space is a dedicated office within the Community Care Clinic. The CRC is available to any community member who would like guidance or assistance with accessing community resources in Western North Carolina. Resources available include help with Housing, Food, Childcare, Eye Exams/Eyeglasses, Prescriptions, Utilities, and more.
Where is the Community Resource Center?
The Community Resource Center is an office in the waiting area at The Community Care Clinic. No appointment is needed to use the CRC, if the door is open then we are available to help!
When Can I Use the Community Resource Center?
A Social Work intern from Appalachian State University is available most Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am-5:00pm. You may call the office at (828) 265-8591 to confirm availability on the day you plan to come. For patients attending appointments at the Community Care Clinic, you may arrive early for your appointment to access resources at the CRC, or stop by the CRC office after your visit.
What Services Does the Community Resource Center Provide?
Staff in the CRC are able to assist community members with identifying needs, matching clients with agencies or services based on those needs, and accessing those agencies or services through applications or referrals. If you think you may need assistance but are not sure where to start, stop by and speak with someone in the office about how we can best serve you!

Cameron Pittman | NCCPSS, MSW Intern
Cameron Pittman (they/them) is a first-year Master of Social Work student at Appalachian State University. They graduated from Appalachian State University in 2022 with a BS in Psychology, and received their North Carolina Peer Support Specialist Certification in 2023.
Cameron is passionate about helping people overcome barriers to access community services and resources. They have 5 years of experience connecting peers with resources that meet their individual needs.
In their free time, Cameron enjoys practicing mindfulness through wheel-thrown pottery.
